The colours of sea, sand and sky are the inspiration for the “Shimmer“ series, blending linen yarns of varying weights with woven patterns. Each wall hanging has subtle variations in weave and colour combinations, the centre panel in each depicting shafts of light on a calm sea.

Linen
This tapestry has been woven using linen. Linen is spun from the flax plant making it a natural sustainable product. In the past flax was widely grown, harvested, and spun in Ireland and although this industry has declined there are now new initiatives to revive these old skills.
